What is the Bottle Nipple Compatibility Checker?
A tool that shows which nipples are compatible with your bottle brand at a glance. Compatibility is displayed in four levels: same brand, compatible, caution needed, and incompatible. Many parents combine bottles that are easy to clean with nipples their baby prefers, and this tool helps quickly verify which combinations work.
Nipple Classification by Thread Type
Nipples are classified into three main types by thread diameter.
| Type | Diameter | Compatibility | Brands |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | ~50mm | Highly compatible | Pigeon, Yumi, Moyuum, Grosmimi, Mothercare, Spectra |
| Wide | ~53mm (proprietary) | Caution needed | Dr. Brown's, NUK, Lansinoh, Suavinex |
| Slim | ~35mm | Dedicated only | Postpartum center models |
| Proprietary | Unique design | Incompatible | Hegen, Comotomo |
Wide type has similar dimensions to standard but with subtle differences requiring caution. Slim type is mainly found in postpartum care center bottles.
3-Step Real-World Compatibility Test
Step 1 Thread fit: Screw the nipple onto the bottle. If the threads do not engage the specifications differ.
Step 2 Air vent check: After assembly verify that the air vent functions properly. Poor ventilation can cause the nipple to collapse during feeding.
Step 3 Leak test: Fill with lukewarm water and shake the bottle upside down. If water leaks from the joint the manufacturing tolerance does not match and you should avoid using this combination.
